Most new clients come to us initially by referral from existing clients or are introduced to us by other professionals such as accountants or solicitors. Typically, there would be an initial telephone conversation where one of our advisers would obtain basic details of the individual’s situation and immediate objectives. An arrangement would then be made to have a meeting at a mutually convenient time and place. We understand how busy most doctors are and will do our best to be flexible on the timing and venue of meetings. Quite commonly we meet at our client’s homes or at their place of work. At the first meeting we concentrate on gaining a thorough understanding of your situation. Not just the hard facts of income, expenditure and existing financial arrangements but also the soft facts. In other words, what are your goals and aspirations ? Early retirement ? A second property ? Maximising investment return ? Every individual is different and each meeting is a dialogue rather than a monologue. Having met and agreed your objectives, budget and priorities we then begin work to provide the solutions to achieve your financial aspirations which follow at the next meeting. Our advice is designed to be flexible to accommodate the inevitable changes that will occur in your life and career. The cost of our service is covered by either fees, commission or a combination of both. We always agree the way we are paid in advance so that clients know from the outset the way that we are remunerated. In order that new clients can get to know us without any obligation, the first meeting is always at our expense. As time moves on we meet regularly with our clients to review their situation and ensure that their arrangements continue to be wholly appropriate for their needs as changes in career, taxation and the market place inevitably happen. We aim to build up a long term relationship based on service and mutual trust. |
